Mapping Prosecutorial Practices – WP 1 (A)
This is predominantly an empirical study into who is prosecuted for international crimes at the domestic level. Four interrelated questions are researched in this project:
(i) how does case selection work?
(ii) to what extent do prosecutorial services and immigration authorities work together?
(iii) which rules and/or policy goals drive prosecutorial policies?
(iv) to what extent is there coordination and/or collaboration with foreign prosecutorial services.
The PhD researcher will conduct field work in 8 countries, 2 weeks per country. Interviews are semi-structured and conducted by two interviewers, one of whom takes notes.
